Why there is no banner
The rules that make sites ask about cookies - the ePrivacy Directive in the EU, PECR in the UK - exempt storage that is strictly necessary for a service the person asked for. Signing in is strictly necessary. Remembering that you prefer the dark theme, after you clicked the button that says so, is part of the thing you asked for.
We have nothing outside that exemption: no analytics, no advertising, no tracking pixel, no third-party script of any kind. There is no consent to collect, so we do not interrupt you to collect it. Asking you to accept cookies we do not set would be theatre.
It also means there is no “reject” button to offer. Refusing the sign-in cookie is the same as not signing in, which you can do by not signing in.
Browser storage
These are not cookies. They are kept in your own browser, are never sent to our servers, and each is written only because you clicked something that said so.
| Name | What it remembers |
|---|---|
| theme | Whether you chose light or dark. |
| kivire.assistant.model | Which assistant model you last picked. |
| kivire:interview-mode | Whether you practise by typing or by speaking. |
| kivire:pending-posting | A job posting on its way from the job search to the editor. Read once, then removed. |
| kivire:imported-postings | Job postings you brought in yourself, so they are still in the list when you come back to it. Gone when you close the tab. |
| kivire:tailored-note | What a tailored copy changed, on its way to the editor. Read once, then removed. |
| kivire:import-notes | What to check in a resume you just imported, on its way to the editor. Read once, then removed. |
Turning them off
Your browser can block or clear all of these. Blocking the sign-in cookie will stop you signing in; clearing the others loses a preference and nothing else.
If this page ever stops matching what the site does, that is a mistake and we want to know: [email protected]. The Privacy Notice covers everything else.
