Medical Assistant resume example
A medical assistant keeps a clinic moving: rooming, vitals, the record, the phone. The resume should show volume, accuracy and the range of procedures you are trusted with.
What we would lead with
- Patient volume and the pace of the clinic you worked in
- Procedures and systems you handle without supervision: phlebotomy, EKG, injections, the health record
- Certification (CMA or RMA, BLS), stated plainly
The mistake we would warn you about
Writing "assisted physicians with patient care". Assisted how, with what, how many times a day? The detail is the evidence.
Bullet points that work for medical assistants
Each one opens with an action verb, says what was done, and ends with a result.
- Prepared 25 to 30 patients a day for six providers, recording vitals and histories with 99% chart accuracy on quarterly audits.
- Performed 40 blood draws a week with a redraw rate under 2%.
- Reduced average rooming time from 11 minutes to 7 by restocking exam rooms on a fixed schedule.
- Resolved 30 prior authorizations a week, cutting the backlog from nine days to two.
