Product Manager resume example
Product managers are hired on judgement, and judgement is only visible through outcomes. A PM resume full of features shipped says nothing about whether they were the right features.
What we would lead with
- Outcomes with numbers: retention, activation, revenue, cost
- Decisions you made against pressure, and what you gave up
- The size and shape of what you owned: users, revenue, team
The mistake we would warn you about
A list of shipped features. Every PM ships features. The question a hiring manager is asking is whether yours mattered, and only a number answers it.
Bullet points that work for product managers
Each one opens with an action verb, says what was done, and ends with a result.
- Raised activation from 31% to 52% in two quarters by cutting onboarding from nine steps to four.
- Killed a six-month roadmap commitment after discovery showed 4% of accounts would use it, redirecting two teams.
- Rebuilt self-serve pricing, lifting average contract value 23% with no increase in churn.
- Cut support tickets about billing 61% by rewriting three screens rather than adding the requested feature.
